Buying group Unitas Wholesale has launched the Unitas Data Service (UDS), a new system that brings together wholesale shipment data for ex-Landmark and ex-Today’s members into one reporting solution. It is claimed that UDS will enable suppliers to convert sales data into meaningful insights to help them build joint business plans with Unitas members.
Managing Director of Unitas Wholesale, Darren Goldney said: “Effective use of data is now an imperative for operators in this channel. The new Unitas Data Service sits at the heart of our drive to become a ‘selling group’ and this upgraded system is set to become the cornerstone of the future”.
UDS adopts the latest cloud-based data warehousing technology to guarantee speed as well as data security. All data is stored via multiple levels of data protection and mobilisation has been specially developed for easy use on smartphones and tablets.
Goldney highlighted that the new platform allows users to go from broad overviews into vital specifics within a few mouse clicks and is very simple to use. He said: “Users will be able to find the stories behind the numbers at the touch of a button. This is all part of our strategy to become a progressive, technology-led, data-centric business that supports its members and supply chain to optimise business as we move into the future”.
A further feature of the upgraded system will be automatic ‘Weekly Updates’ sent by email to users, containing the latest sales trends, insights and ‘must-have’ category information.
UDS has been created in partnership with data and digital specialists, TWC. Its CEO Tanya Pepin commented: “As data becomes a central requirement from which to drive better business, the new Unitas Data Service has been created to help Unitas’ members and suppliers enjoy growth based on understanding, knowledge and hard facts. It’s important to move with the times and the Unitas Data Service does just that in a way that is easy, comprehensive and secure.”
